I have been told and read that a new coast highway is to be built from San Luis to RP. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, what is the timetable? This may cut off up to 150 miles for those of us in Southern California.

Coastal Highway From the March Rocky Point times: "...The new Coastal Highway which will take one from San Luis Rio Colorado to Guaymas, mostly along the coast, seems to be coming to fruition. This means travel will be much simpler and faster and we won't have to travel the terrible single lane highways laden with heavy bus and truck traffic anymore. They are plotting this highway out and part of it is under construction, but it will be a long time coming, I dare to speculate…". Hope this helps. GHR
