Electricity/Water Conservation
Guest_
We rented the Villas before ours was built and one of them had a sign on the shower "run the hot water 4-5 minutes" (before the shower water is hot) That is a terrible waste of both water and electricity. Basically you are running hot water down the drain for 4-5 minutes each time the shower is used. There is a relatively inexpensive energy/water conservation system that can be installed on any unit and would be particularly beneficial to Villa Owners, it saves both electricity and water - an "instant hot water system". We installed one soon after we took possession of our Villa. Basically it is a small pump with a timer that mounts on the hot water outlet of the hot water tank. At the taps at the farthest point in the house, you install a small valve that allows the hot water to recalculate back to the hot water tank through the cold water pipes. We have used them for years at other houses and they work very well. For Phoenix we had ours installed by this person: Tim Bentley Recalculate - It (623) 434-7179 (623) 910-4357 For Mexico, he sold us the pump, lines and valves, (there are 2 separate lines in our Villa - 1 ends at the kitchen sink and one ends in the Master shower), and Installed it myself.
